Details On Kentucky White Tail Deer Hunting

By Marci Nielsen

Thanks to the internet, hunters from all over the world have an opportunity to learn on the various skills and techniques on hunting. Even the veteran hunters who are of course very skilled can also learn a thing or two. Long gone are the days when individuals had to learn this the hard way. In relation to this, the following is information on Kentucky white tail deer hunting.

Being able to speak the deer language puts one in a better position to be able to draw them nearer and hunt them. This includes the use of grunt tubes, rattle sounds among others. At other times hunters prefer to use decoy deers. These are placed in the field and are really helpful in drawing other deers closer.

Despite the fact that whitetail deers spend most of their time in the woods, it is possible for one to hunt them in a non- wooded area. The best time to do this is early in the morning when the sun is rising and late in the evening while the sun is setting. This is the time when these animals are out and about in search of food and water hence one is always supposed to be on the lookout.

Among other tools, having a trail camera is one of the important things to consider especially among hunters in Kentucky. These have a wide array of uses and there are many types, all with different prices and quality. Once installed on the land, they monitor the piece of land without causing any form of disturbance whatsoever to other wildlife. They also take record of deers as they grow. In addition to that, they take count of seers hence the hunter is able to estimate the number of deers on his farm.

To bait or not to bait; this is an issue that has been raising many heads in Kentucky. Those who are against it argue that it is not fair to kill the whitetail deer just because it was drawn to the scent of food. Most of the young hunters however love this as makes hunting to be very easy. The seniors however consider this wrong and to second this, sometimes there are laws against baiting.

The deer hunting world is such a competitive one. Due to this fact, hunters in Kentucky are looking for all the ways that they can keep a get a healthy deer population on their farms. This is by using attractants such as natural food plots, salt licks among others. These mainly prevent the deer population from moving to other areas in search of food and water.

Among the many precautions that one should take during hunts, hunters should always make sure that they wear scent free clothing. This is due to the fact that deers are very quick in detecting foreign scent and when they do, they look for all possible escape routes.

Scent free detergent, bathing soap and cologne should always be used before a hunt. All equipment is also supposed to be free of human scent in order to avoid attracting attention from the animals.
