Explore Nature With A Channel Islands Yacht Rental

By Shawn Hunter

There is no experience quite like being out on the open ocean with its majestic waves and deep blue hues. If you are visiting the Oxnard, CA area or are lucky enough to live there year round, then you can book a Channel Islands yacht rental so that you and your friends or family can really see what the local area has to offer.

The length of your trip will determine which yacht you get and how much it costs to rent it. If you need a large party and want a cruise of only a few hours, your price will differ compared to an all day trip with just a few close friends. You can choose a tour of just a few hours or even special cruises like sunrise or sunset to see the beauty of the open ocean colored by the sun.

Food and beverages are may be available, depending on which cruise you book. If you only reserved a four hour tour, you might only get bottled water and maybe a few soft drinks to choose from, possibly with some food to nibble. An all day tour might include one or more meals and snacks, along with a larger selection of beverages. Alcohol may be available, though it may incur additional cost.

If you decide for a longer tour, there are day tours that last all day and possibly into the evening. In this case, lunch is usually provided, along with snacks and drinks. Once again, alcohol could cost extra unless you get an all inclusive package. You don't stay overnight, but you will be gone for most of the day.

Perhaps you have dreamed of staying overnight on the ocean without having to go on a week long cruise ship. You can charter a private yacht for an overnight trip to allow the fun to last even longer. You have access to a full bathroom with shower and a stateroom with a comfortable bed for sleeping. Meals and refreshments are included, and you may even get entertainment such as music or movies. The availability of multiple staterooms varies from ship to ship.

A really great treat that you can have when booking a day or overnight trip is the chance to explore the beautiful Channel Islands National Park. This is a set of five islands within easy boating distance of the harbor that a real local treasure. With pristine coastlines and gorgeous local wildlife, this is a great place for camping, hiking or relaxing and watching the sun go down.

Besides island hopping and enjoying the view from the ship, you might be able to stop and try other activities out on the water. Beyond the expecting swimming and floating, you might be able to try paddleboating or even paddling your own kayak in the ocean. Ask in advance to see what equipment is available.

There is no experience necessary when it comes to this kind of trip, as an experienced captain and crew is provided for you. In fact, this could be your first time setting foot on a boat, and you would still be fine. Just relax and have fun.
