For Scuba Diving Cartagena Is Worth Visiting

By Mark Perry

Scuba diving has existed since the twentieth century. It is closely linked to the history of the scuba equipment. It basically began with the development of two architectures for the underwater breathing device, namely open and closely circuit apparatus. The open circuit surface supplied the equipment is where the diver exhaled gas gets vented into the water directly. It developed further by the introduction of demand regulators. When in need of Scuba Diving Cartagena should be visited.

This later followed by the development of a diving suit. The suit enabled a person to have a supply of air on their demand. This was made possible by just adjusting how the air flows from the tank so as to meet an individual breathing pressure needs. The air supply was mainly from the surface since at that time the cylinder could not withstand the necessary high pressures.

It was until the early nineties when air cylinders were developed to allow the diver move around in the underwater and explore. Today the diver is able to carry the open circuit which comprises of air compressed in a cylinder on their backs. A pressure regulator connects with the compressed air and it can be manually regulated by the diver.

The pressure regulator has two gauges one for supply pressure and another for tank pressure. Air is supplied continuously to a mouthpiece and expelled via a short exhaust pipe. The pipe has a valve which is used to control the air. Despite all these improvements the equipment is still being developed further.

Inventors have indicated that they are yet to find a successful procedure of miniaturizing the entire system. The purpose of doing this is increasing the useful period of under the water breathing equipment. The open and closed apparatuses were developed approximately in the same period. This system is designed to recirculate carbon dioxide once it is filtered with the remaining oxygen.

Research indicate that people only use a tiny portion of oxygen when they are underwater. The recirculation reduces oxygen. The system has a rebreather which recycles the breathing gas that is exhaled while concurrently refilling it from supply. This is to ensure that air is in constant supply due to depletion. The first design was comprised of rubber mask that was attached to some breathing bag.

The bag contains sixty percent of oxygen supplied by a cooper tank and carbon (IV) Oxide scrubbed by a rope yarn soaked in a caustic solution. The system is also still under further development over time. The current model has really improved and can travel up to a thousand feet deep the ocean. It also has the ability to hold greater amounts of oxygen.

Scuba diving is performed for various purposes both personal and professional. It is done for recreational and enjoyment such as cave diving and deep sea diving. Divers are also employed to perform some underwater tasks. It is also utilized by the military for direct combat and infiltration.
