What To Expect In Your Mount Everest Expedition

Each and every year thousands of tourists across the world visit of the highest place on earth that is 8844 meters above the sea level. Mount Everest region has snow throughout the year as from 6000 meters up. The area is a sacred place for the Nepalese and Tibetan people.

Mountaineers consider this place a holy grail, and many of them desire to climb to the top. It is advisable to do acclimatization and training before you embark on this journey. However, not everyone who visits this place climb the mountain. Some people only come to see the magnificence. You can also choose to enjoy Mt. Everest scenery from the nearby towns or getting to the base of the mountain. Some of the important things, you will need include hiking shoes, rainproof coat, and warm clothes. The other things you will also need is a backpack with food and camping gear if you will camp at base camp or monastery. A camera is important to take video and pictures to keep the memories alive in the days to come.

If you want to have an aerial view of the area, you need to book a flight that will fly you over the Himalayas and the Everest Mountain. When you are on the plane, you can watch the beauty and splendor from the comfort of your seat. Most people visit the area through the Shigatse valley. This is a valley that has many towns situated at the base of the mountain. It is a place where you will be able to see ancient ruins, natural hot springs, and colorful markets.

Take a hike to Rongbuk Monastery though it s a distance of forty-eight miles it is less strenuous compared to climbing the mountain and many people touring the area can handle it. At Shigatse Valley, you will also find a guide for a small fee who will take you to Rongbuk Monastery. At the monastery, you will get magnificent views of the whole mountain, and you will also find a hostel when you can rest for a night before heading back.

From the monastery, you can proceed six miles to base camp. Base camp is 17000 above sea level and would not be suitable for those with altitude sickness. Mountaineers consider base camp the starting point of climbing the mountain.

Mount Everest is a place that receives many people from different parts of the world every year. The place has the beauty and magnificence and is located at the borders of Nepal, Tibet, and China. Some people come to see the beauty others come to conquer the epic journey to the top. It is important to be fit and acclimatize before you visit this place.

The area is suitable for photography, hiking, camping and mountain climbing. On the northern slope is China and on the southern slope is Nepal. It is always cold with temperatures below Zero throughout the year, but there are strong winds that make it even more freezing for visitors.
